First Springbok puzzleJan 05, 2012
By rmorris58 This is my first Springbok puzzle. It was fun putting this together since I love the subject matter. It certainly was in keeping with Springbok's line of work which seems to cater to the nostalgic.
The picture quality and composition of the puzzle is excellent. The material quality of this puzzle is just okay. Having done Ravensburger puzzles in the past, I tend to judge quality based on their standards. They are clearly the best I've found. The pieces for this puzzle should be a bit thicker. All the pieces were present and had odd shapes, a feature that I actually liked. Many pieces were stuck together, which is not uncommon. However the reason for them being stuck together was because they were not cut all the way through. When you pull them apart they tend to rip the backs. That gave them a less than preferred fit. It screams cheap!
The photo quality and subject matter are five stars. The construction was maybe a three at best. If you're annoyed by less than good construction try another brand, like Ravensburger. Overall though this was fun to do, and not that difficult for a 1000 piece puzzle.
